Minecraft Guides: Crafting, Farms, Mining and Villagers

Every minecraft.bd how-to in one place: crafting recipes, mob and crop farms, mining levels, villagers, brewing, enchanting and beating the Ender Dragon.

By minecraft.bd Editorial Team·Updated

This is the index for every practical guide on the site: how to craft a specific item, where to dig for an ore, how to build a farm that runs while you’re away, and the order to do things in if your goal is to finish the game. Each guide says which edition it covers, and when Java and Bedrock behave differently we spell out the difference on the page instead of pretending they’re the same game.

If you’re new

Start with how to beat Minecraft step by step. It’s the backbone of survival: first night, iron, diamonds, the Nether, the stronghold, and the dragon, in the order that actually works. Pair it with the beginner basics in how to play Minecraft if you’ve never opened the game before.

Your first hour mostly comes down to a handful of recipes. A chest for storage, a bed so you can skip the night and set your spawn, and a bucket once you have three iron ingots. The bucket is the one people put off, and it’s the one that saves the most lives.

Mining and resources

The ore guides tell you which Y level to dig at and which pickaxe you need. Finding diamonds and finding iron cover the two you’ll want first; the longer mining guide compares branch mining, caving and other techniques. Late game, ancient debris is the only route to netherite.

Farms

Most of the “how to build a” guides are farms. An iron farm is the single most useful one for a survival world, because iron goes into hoppers, rails, anvils and beacons. If you’ve never automated anything, read how to start an automatic farm first: the observer-and-piston pattern it teaches turns up in almost every crop farm. Mob farms are listed below too: a blaze farm for brewing fuel, a creeper farm for gunpowder, and spawner, ocean and river farms for XP and drops.

Villagers, brewing and enchanting

Trading is the fastest way to get Mending books and cheap diamond gear. The villager jobs guide lists every workstation, and curing a zombie villager shows how to get the big discounts. For potions, how to brew potions walks through the whole setup. Enchantments have their own section in the enchantments reference.

Guides lean on other parts of the site. Creature stats live in the mobs section, loot tables and locations in structures, and wiring basics in the redstone hub. If something in a guide uses a command, the commands reference has the syntax.

Every guide is listed below. The review date on each page is the last time we checked it against the game.
