How We Check Facts: Sources, Edition Labels and Corrections

We check Minecraft facts against Mojang first, then the game itself, then the Minecraft Wiki. How pages get edition and version labels, and fixes.

By minecraft.bd Editorial Team·Updated

We check facts on minecraft.bd against Mojang’s own information first, then against the game itself, then against the community Minecraft Wiki. If we can’t confirm something from any of those, we don’t publish it. A shorter correct page is better than a longer wrong one.

Where we look, in order

  1. Official sources. Release notes and articles on minecraft.net, help.minecraft.net for accounts and purchases, and education.minecraft.net for Minecraft Education. If Mojang has said it in a changelog, that wins.
  2. The game itself. Recipes, mob behavior and enchantment levels can be checked in a few minutes in a current release, and where a source is unclear or two sources disagree, that’s what we do.
  3. The Minecraft Wiki. For exact numbers like drop rates, spawn rules and health values, and for history, the community wiki is the most thorough reference there is. We treat it as a strong secondary source and cross-check anything that looks surprising.

Other places, such as videos, forum posts and other guide sites, are useful for ideas but don’t count as confirmation. Our list of useful resources explains what each source is good for.

Edition and version labels

Java and Bedrock are separate programs, and they don’t always behave the same. Every page is labeled Java, Bedrock or Both, with the game version it was checked against and the date of the last review. When the editions differ on a page, we say so in the text rather than picking one.

Minecraft changes often. Villager trading was rebuilt in 1.14, ore heights moved in 1.18, and since 2024 Mojang has released several smaller “drops” a year instead of one big update. In 2026 Mojang also switched to year-based version numbers (26.1, 26.2 and so on). Our latest version page tracks the current release, and the version history shows what changed when.

Things we don’t guess

  • Prices. We give the official price where one exists, the date we checked it, and where to check the current local price. We never estimate.
  • Local information. Servers, events and communities in Bangladesh are only mentioned if we can confirm they exist.
  • Upcoming features. Snapshot and preview features are described as in development, because they often change before release.

When we’re wrong

It happens, mostly after an update changes something. When we find or hear about a mistake, we check it against the sources above (and in the game where we can), fix the page, and update its review date. If a change affects many pages (for example, a mechanic used in several farm designs), we go through all of them, not just the one that was reported. To report one, use the contact page.

The broader rules we write by, including independence and no piracy, are in our editorial policy. Who we are is on the about page.
