Common questions

Do commands work on Bedrock and Pocket Edition?

Yes. Bedrock on phones, consoles and Windows has a full command set. Most everyday commands match Java, but the syntax for items, mobs and a few others differs.

Can you make custom commands?

Not new slash commands in vanilla. You can chain existing ones with command blocks and functions in data packs (Java) or behavior packs (Bedrock). Servers add custom commands with plugins.

Are command generator websites safe to use?

They're handy for long /give and /summon commands, but check the generator targets your exact version. Java's item syntax changed in 1.20.5 and again in 1.21.5.
