How to Download Minecraft on Android (Official, No APK)
Search Minecraft on Google Play, check the publisher is Mojang, buy once and install. Paying from Bangladesh, the free trial, and why APK sites are risky.
Search “Minecraft” in the Google Play Store, check that the publisher is Mojang, buy it once, and install. The Android version is Bedrock Edition (the game people still call Minecraft PE), and the same purchase keeps updating for free.
Installing Minecraft on Android
- Open Google Play and search for Minecraft. The listing you want is simply called “Minecraft” with Mojang as the developer. Ignore look-alikes with “Craft” in the name.
- Tap the price button and pay (see below if you’re in Bangladesh).
- Once it installs, open it and sign in with a free Microsoft account. You can play single-player without one, but you need it for multiplayer with other devices, Realms, the Marketplace and featured servers.
The download is a few hundred megabytes, and the game pulls in more data on first launch. Do it on Wi-Fi if your mobile data is limited.
Paying from Bangladesh
The price shown on the Play Store listing is the price for your account’s country, so trust that figure over anything quoted on a website (ours included). For what we’ve seen and how regional pricing works, see Minecraft price in Bangladesh.
Google’s own help page lists credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) as the payment methods for countries without a dedicated entry, and Bangladesh doesn’t have one. In practice that means a card with international transactions enabled, such as a dual-currency card from your bank. Open Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions to see exactly which options your account offers today.
Be careful with “Google Play gift cards for bKash”. Google says Play gift cards only work in the country and currency they were sold in, and Bangladesh isn’t on its list of gift card countries. A US card won’t redeem on a Bangladeshi account. Our bKash buying guide explains the routes that do hold up.
Try before you buy
Mojang also publishes Minecraft Trial on Google Play. It’s a free, time-limited single-player survival world with no multiplayer. It’s a good way to check that your phone runs the game smoothly before you spend money. The other free options are listed in Is Minecraft free?.
Skip the APK sites
“Minecraft APK free download” sites distribute modified copies of the paid game. Some are years out of date, some carry adware or worse, and none of them can sign in properly for Realms or the Marketplace. You’d also be giving a stranger’s app full access to your phone. Buying once is cheaper than replacing a compromised account.
If it runs badly
Older or budget phones struggle with high render distance. Lower it in Settings > Video, turn off fancy graphics, and close other apps. Our lag and FPS guide has more fixes, and the Bedrock Edition guide explains what you can do on the mobile version that Java players can’t. For every other device, go back to the download hub.
Common questions
Is there a free Minecraft on Android?
Mojang publishes a free Minecraft Trial on Google Play. It is single-player survival with a time limit. The full game is a one-time purchase.
Is Minecraft PE the same as the Android version?
Yes. Pocket Edition was renamed and became part of Bedrock Edition, so the Google Play version is Bedrock and plays with Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, iPhone and Windows players.
Can I move my Android Minecraft to a new phone?
Yes. The purchase is tied to your Google account, so sign in to the same account on the new phone and install it again. Copy your worlds across separately, or keep them on a Realm.
